Find Your Size – Patch & Bloom Dress
We recommend choosing your size based on your bust measurement.
The back tie allows for some adjustability through the bust. And the finsihed hip measurement on this pattern is very generous.
If your waist measurement falls into a different size bracket, you may wish to check the full size chart before deciding.

A sewing pattern to make a midi sundress that celebrates your favourite quilting cotton collections. Designed for makers who love to combine prints, the Patch & Bloom Dress uses up to four coordinating fabrics for maximum impact.
With no zips, it’s easy to sew and easy to wear. The lined bodice ties at the back in a bow or knot, allowing for an adjustable fit. A gentle drawstring gathers the back waist, while patch pockets are cleverly set into the skirt panels for style and practicality.
The skirt has generous volume and a swishy feel, thanks to thoughtful shaping and a deep, lined hem that gives quilting cottons a beautiful drape. A joy to sew – even more fun to wear.
Confident Beginner to Intermediate (requires sewing gathers, easing, drawstring casing and piping)
YES – All pattern pieces include a 12.7 mm (½ inch) seam allowance.
This pattern includes sizes UK 6–24. (But the finished hip measurement is very generous, extending to 218 cm/ 86″)

Designed for a flattering drape with quilting cottons, the pattern is also suitable for other light- to mid-weight woven fabrics like cotton lawns, linens, or blends.
You’ll need up to 4 different fabrics (plus a cotton or linen lining).
You’ll need 4 coordinating woven fabrics, plus a lining. Most fabrics require 1 metre (1.1 yards) each for UK sizes 6–16.
For UK sizes 18–24, you’ll need a little extra:
Fabric D (contrast): 1.5 m (1.65 yd)
Lining (cotton or linen): 1.5 m (1.65 yd)
Using directional prints?
Add 0.5 m (0.55 yd) extra to Fabric A and/or Fabric C for all sizes.
💡 Take note: Directional prints require extra fabric across all sizes.
