Hi, I'm Hanri...
… I’ve been sewing, knitting and crocheting from a young age as taught by my mom. Back in 2013, I was working as a freelancer in various industries (teaching yoga, graphic design in publishing and photography) and I was looking for an oversized hoodie to wear over my yoga clothes. When I couldn’t find a suitable hoodie, I drafted my own pattern – the Yoga Cover Up – and shared it on Etsy.
Over the years that followed I’d occasionally design something else to make, and soon realised that pattern drafting was the one area of work that combined all my previously separate creative skills – Graphic Design, illustration, photography, publishing, sewing, knitting, crochet and some mindful inspiration from my yoga practice.
My goal is to provide beautiful but practical clothing patterns and some accessories that are perfect for gifting. Not only do the patterns include step by step written guidance, but I include illustrated steps for those who prefer to follow the process visually.
Each pattern I develop is something I genuinely want to wear myself. I personally love going through my fabric stash, finding a pattern and starting a project right away – so the patterns I design are instantly available for you to print at home, and I have minimised the need for specialised fasteners and closures that will need to be sourced especially.
I hope you enjoy making these items as much as I do, and that the instructions guide you seamlessly through the process of creating something beautiful and unique to you.
Why USE sewilloW patteRNs?
In times of fast and cheap fashion, sewing and knitting are no longer a necessity, but an opportunity to make beautiful, unique and long lasting fashion and home items.
Sewillow aims to make patterns that are easily adjustable and without fussy or fancy fastenings (we love wrap tops, adjustable straps and bows). All the patterns are named after plants from gardens that inspire. Making anything from scratch is an opportunity to be mindful and to slow down.

Our sewing patterns now come in x 3 PDF formats with printable layers so that you can print your size only when using Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print your PDF.
- A4/US letter : to print at home, stick together and cut.
- PAPERSAVER : To print at home on A4 / US letter, but then trace your size onto pattern paper (patterns overlap).
- COPYSHOP: To have sent to an on-line printer who will print it on one or two large A0 format pieces of paper to cut or trace from.
