A sideways knitting pattern to make a cropped chunky wrap style seamless cardigan with wide sleeves. Knitted in two pieces on circular needles and grafted together at the centre of the back. A quick weekend project, and mostly easy, although the side seam method is unusual, so we have illustrated those steps to make it easier to follow.
Intermediate level (requires circular knitting, casting on mid pattern, decreasing stitches, kitchener stitch to join peices together).
This pattern includes sizes UK ladies 6 – 24 (see sizing chart in image gallery)
- Yarn : Chunky – Super Chunky – Shown in Robin Super Chunky (100% Acrylic) shown in shade 35 (Oatmeal)
- Yarn alternatives : Drops Wish, Drops Air (held double) and Drops Andes
- Tension/Gauge : 9st & 13 rows = 10 cm in stockinette stitch
- Needles : 9mm / US 13 / UK 00 circular needles 100 cm* + 2 x stitch holders
The pattern was written for Robin Super Chunky Yarn – each skein 100g (80 metres)
UK Sizes 6-10 : 6 skeins
UK Sizes 12 : 7 skeins
UK Sizes 14-18 : 8 skeins
UK Sizes 20-24 : 9 skeins
