Latest update from sewillow

Watch the latest update from me, Hanri, the creator of Sewillow patterns.

In this video, I share the latest news and developments from my sewing and knitting workroom. This year, I’ve been busy planning for our upcoming wedding in May, which has inspired new creative endeavours and exciting projects. I discuss the process of sewing the wedding dress, incorporating newfound skills into future patterns, and the release of the much anticipated Whispering Clouds Knitting pattern. Discover how I’ve enhanced the pattern based on feedback from testers and made it even more accessible with helpful video tutorials. I share a few behind-the-scenes photos and videos from making my wedding dress before releasing the full video and photos when we return from our honeymoon in June. I’ve also included two 50% discount codes… see below.

After the popularity of the Chiono Quilted Jacket, so many of you asked for a slightly longer coat with a hood. Well, it’s finally here!

The Omilla Hooded Quilt Coat is a sewing pattern for making a drop shoulder hooded coat, designed to utilize quilts or blankets. Instead of
traditional hemming, edges are finished with a bias binding method, and the coat is constructed without a separate lining. The extra-long sleeves can be rolled or shortened, and the adaptable length allows for personalised length. Featuring deep curved pockets and various closure options, this pattern is an ideal project for quilters and sewists seeking a straightforward construction without the complexities of lining a coat.

The Whispering Clouds Sweater knitting pattern

- an intermediate colourwork pattern -

The Whispering Clouds Sweater – knitting pattern 0024

A knitting pattern to make an ethereal top down cosy sweater.
The cloud designs are revealed across the body, shoulders, and sleeves using stranded knitting techniques with three strands of yarns.
The two thinner strands of yarns adds a gradient colour effect and a soft brushed texture to recreate the dreamy sky backdrop behind the clouds, and the slit at the waist rib edge allows for an effortless ‘French Tuck’ technique when wearing. Designed in loving memory of my faithful companion, Chunk, who loved gazing at the skies on warm days. May this comforting sweater act as a gentle reminder of the comforting presence of those we’ve lost.

Featured on Rip-Off Britain

Some of you may remember last year I announced that my product design (The Scilla Jumpsuit) and photographs were stolen by Temu. I was subsequently contacted by the BBC to talk about the issue with Rip Off Britain.

You can watch the episode on BBC iPlayer – the story features at 20 minutes into the episode.

Persea Harem Jumpsuit

Made a few adjustments to get the look I wanted which included lengthening the leg and taking it in to be tapered. Absolutely love this pattern. Super easy and fast sew. Definitely recommend.

Amazing pattern! I made this in about 5 hours out of a soft flowy fabric and it’s the most comfortable thing ever. I’m a size 14-16 but I made the size 14 and it fits perfectly since I don’t like it to be too oversized. The ties on the top and bottom are soooo cute! I also love how the different sizes in the pdf are on different layers so you can just print the size you need. I might even make it again in a different fabric!

Just finished my first rendition of this. I absolutely love that it is comfy and classy. The fabric I used paired with the pattern create this amazing flow in the legs when I walk. I adore it. nnI’m a beginner and had no problem with what is labeled as the more tricky tasks at all. nnNext time I will raise the placement of the pockets.

A zip-free Back Wrap Dress with a ruffle

Back in the Spring of 2022 I started working on sewing a dress I could wear on my upcoming holiday in Spain. So I set to work to create a dress pattern, and as usual, without fussy fasteners or zips. This blog post tells the story of how the dress came to be, what inspired it, and what pattern testers had to say about it. You can purchase the pattern as an instantly downloadable digital file from the Etsy store, to print at home or have printed via a copy shop.
